Our Coalition of Volunteers

Nine Months Matter Coalition is a philanthropic volunteer group formed in response to the large percentage of our population suffering from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). The Coalition is tasked with identifying fundraising and sponsorship opportunities to educate the public to the dangers that alcohol imposes on a developing fetus and to support programming for children already living with FASD. The Coalition facilitates opportunities to provide women with all of the information they need to make a conscious decision about the health and welfare of their children.

The Coalition works with UC San Diego’s Center for Better Beginnings and its Co-Director Dr. Kenneth Lyons Jones, one of two doctors who first recognized FASD back in 1973.  Dr. Jones has spent his life’s work researching the devastating consequences of alcohol exposure to a fetus, and working worldwide on diagnosis and intervention.

Planned fundraisers this year include a Sip and Shop Boutique on March 22, a Fashion Show and Luncheon on April 4, and an Author’s Luncheon on September 28.
